Daniel Silver
Cake snake
31 October – 8 December 2001
Sprovieri is pleased to present Daniel Silver’s first solo exhibition “Cake snake”.
Daniel Silver’s work refers to his domestic environment to expose both the connection and the physical awkwardness that we have in and around furniture.
All of his objects have a physical space for the body to explore and move into, like a sleeping bag, an envelope, a skin like place. Whilst the objects may be physically inviting they are in a raw state and might also be unsettling.
Silver creates structures which become both a home for his work and psychological places. The objects are accessible but controlled within the space which might be a home, a tree house, a living room, or the space beneath a table.
Daniel Silver was born in London in 1972. He graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2001and is currently participating in Bloomberg New Contemporaries.
